I've tried the new moon tilted in the air

Above a hazy tree-and-farmhouse cluster

As you might try a jewel in your hair.

I've tried it fine with little breadth of luster,

Alone, or in one ornament combining

With one first-water star almost shining.

By walking slowly on some evening later,

What were some Greek and Roman Contributions of Sculpture

Many sculptures that we have come to know through the Romans are actually copies of Greek sculptures. The third and fourth centuries B.C. were times of great advancement in the arts. The so called “Golden Age” of Pericles brought about many advancements in that enabled marble to be crafted into the human form. These standards, sometimes called cannons, were to become tools for some of the greatest sculptural endeavors in ancient history and remained in use for centuries. Myron and Praxitiles are two giants emerging from these rich early periods. The Greek efforts to understand and represent the human figure were to define the first real ideas for human perfection, sometimes called Idealism.
